Designing Technologies
I believe a well-delivered technology renders a new culture. Often in the beginning, the new culture is thought of as an alternative, but soon it transforms into the lived culture that’s a part of a daily routine for many people.
If that happens on a scale of billions of users it’s more akin to infrastructure. Ubiquitous technologies that many experiences depend on are the infrastructure of this digital day - like bridges and highways. These technologies have a big impact on our society.
I, as a UX designer, see myself as a bridge between the engineers and scientists who develop the technology and my grandma who would benefit from those technologies. Designers have a big role in shaping the future of technologies and culture.

AI + Eye screening
At Verily(Alphabet’s life sciences and healthcare arm) I worked on imaging project to create new services with machine learning algorithm to power automated screening to prevent blindness.

Data + health
At Onduo, Verily’s company, I designed to provide care for people with chronic health conditions like diabetes. I worked on creating enrollment & onboarding experiences for patients, and care platform for care providers. I thought a lot about how data can help us prevent medical events and help people live their full life with some conditions they have. Learning from the users and social trend, staying healthy or feeling healthy is not an easy tasks for many people today.
Self-driving
At Uber ATG (now Aurora) I designed tools and processes to develop and operate self-driving technologies. Most of the time I was thinking about interactions between a car and engineers or car and the operators-- what data is in and out between them.
Uber driver incentives
I led designs for the driver promotions at Uber. We designed an incentives system for the Uber marketplace. This includes operational tools for 400+ cities around the world and features built in the driver app for driver communications. I learned a lot about building a system that works for two sides of the market and UX for behavior change.
Honda future cars
I worked with Phd scientists on the concepts involving 3D Heads up display(HUD) with scientists developing Advanced Driving Aid System(ADAS) for Honda Research Institute Silicon Valley. Attained one patent and one patent pending.
Glance news
As one of the co-founders and lead designer, I created a news-snacking product. Glance was incubated at Plug and Play in Sunnyvale. Working in a 4 person team and being a cofounder I learned a lot of building a product and company from zero.
